Layout and Editing
I was once criticized by another photographer that my work wasn’t all that impressive. The difference of opinion rested on the never ending argument of quality of image or quantity of capture. But to say that to any photographer, regardless of their experience behind the camera, is absolutely ridiculous. Because photography isn’t meant to impress other photographers.
What the photographer brings to the table is their ability to capture a moment in time and dignify their subject with a composition or perspective. The only requirement for being a really good photographer is actually being there.
In today’s environment, “being there” goes further beyond the moment of capture, and eons past the traditional darkroom. Dodging and Burning is no longer a development concept. It’s a standard tool on the palette board.
StarInTheSky Productions also takes pride in having a strong foundation in layout and design theory, and abreast with the current trends and techniques in color management, desktop publishing, and disciplined in AP style photojournalism.
Different to many photography houses and design firms, we follow a magazine style approach. Simply put, “Of course your a better photographer, but we shoot for layout!” – Antonio M.
